Terrain: The first 20 miles of the marathon is on a hard-packed dirt/gravel road. At around mile 6 the course changes to pavement.

Recommended Shoes: Most any Road or Trail shoe with a solid tread, is sufficient. Just don’t plan on running barefoot or minimalist shoes. You’re in for a long journey, if you do!

Course Description: The first 20 miles is ta hard-packed, wide dirt road. The first 10 miles is rolling down Trail Creek Road, the to Yellowstone Trail Road for 10 more rolling downhills, to the last 6 miles on a flat paved finish to Sacagawea Park on the Yellowstone River in Livingston Montana
